time to just wait and see

my plant hobby (i refuse to call myself a plant mom ) took up a notch when i noticed my sempervivum tectorum was beginning to get very leggy and the bottom leaves were starting to dry out. i set out to google what i could do to save it, as i have killed many succulents and frankly i am rather tired of it (the waste of money and cute plants). this is how i learned about propagating. i fixed up some pots for the little pups, and took 3 of them out. i tried to save some of the leggier ones, but they dried out as they were getting calloused. i wanted to keep the tiniest one, so i put that in the smallest pot i had lying around and put the remaining two in the bigger pot. och samma på finska: viherpiipertelyni eteni toiselle tasolle loppukesästä, kun huomasin kattomehitähteni kasvaneen yli äyräiden ja sen alimpien lehtien kuivuneen. itse asiassa koko ruukku oli niin täynnä mehitähteä, että kasteluvesi ei edes päässyt multaan asti. näin opin kasvien lisäämisestä eri tavoin: esimerkiksi lehdi...

 here are my newest and most precious plant friends. like everyone and their mother, i have become rather fond of indoor activities such as watching plants grow. one summer, i went outside to look at snails in the grass so i guess this is my jam. i am unfortunately naturally unequipped to keep plants alive so i am acting against any common sense by attempting the impossible. och samma på finska: kuvissa rakkaimmat mehikasvit ja eräs tillandsia. kasvivalon alla hengailee myös pari kaktusta, joiden en toivo nuupahtavan. korona-aikana olen siis ehtinyt mieltyä jollain kummallisella tavalla erilaisiin sisätila-aktiviteetteihin, kuten viherpiipertely ja kahvin tippumisen odottaminen. eräänä kesänä olin niin tylsistynyt, että etanoiden katselu pihamaalla oli kohtalaisen mielenkiintoista, joten kai tämä on meikäläiselle sopivaa puuhaa. sinänsä. ja poikkeukselliset olot vaativat poikkeukselliset keinot (kutsuttiinkohan muuten mustaa ruttoa poikkeustilaksi?) vaikka olenkin todella epäviherp...
