sempervivum tectorum propagation update / tilannekatsaus: sempervivum tectorum -poikaset

my plant hobby (i refuse to call myself a plant mom) took up a notch when i noticed my sempervivum tectorum was beginning to get very leggy and the bottom leaves were starting to dry out. i set out to google what i could do to save it, as i have killed many succulents and frankly i am rather tired of it (the waste of money and cute plants).

this is how i learned about propagating. i fixed up some pots for the little pups, and took 3 of them out. i tried to save some of the leggier ones, but they dried out as they were getting calloused. i wanted to keep the tiniest one, so i put that in the smallest pot i had lying around and put the remaining two in the bigger pot.

och samma på finska: viherpiipertelyni eteni toiselle tasolle loppukesästä, kun huomasin kattomehitähteni kasvaneen yli äyräiden ja sen alimpien lehtien kuivuneen. itse asiassa koko ruukku oli niin täynnä mehitähteä, että kasteluvesi ei edes päässyt multaan asti. näin opin kasvien lisäämisestä eri tavoin: esimerkiksi lehdistä ja pistokkaista.

mehitähden alta pilkotti useampi poikanen, joista onnistuin pelastamaan 3. rönsyjä en saanut pelastettua, eivätkä talteen poimimani pikkulehdet itäneet myöskään. saanemme syyttää siitä kohtalaisen pimeää asuntoamme sekä sen kylmähköä peruslämpötilaa.
